Applying for the German Temporary Hunting Licence
Dear Hunting Guest,
In order to participate in the driven hunt, you must hold a valid German Day Hunting Licence. To obtain this licence, the following documents must be submitted to my gamekeeper, Mr Patrick Müller (mueller@schloss-rheda.de), no later than 15 December 2025:
- Proof of identity of the applicant, e.g. a copy of a valid passport or national identity card.
- Proof of a valid hunting permit and/or a copy of a Firearms Certificate (FAC).
- A recent criminal record check. You can request a basic DBS check via the UK government website here: www.gov.uk/request-copy-criminal-record. The current fee is £18.
- An authenticated German translation of all the above documents.
- A recent photograph that matches the ID provided under item 1. Even if you already hold a German Day or Annual Hunting Licence, the photograph must still be attached.
To participate in a German driven hunt, guests are required to possess both the above 14-day Hunting Licence and a valid Driven Game Shooting Certificate. This certificate must not be older than 12 months at the time of the hunt. It can be obtained either at a shooting cinema or on a shooting range equipped with a “Laufender Keiler” (running boar target).
In the United Kingdom, this test can be undertaken at the National Shooting Centre in Bisley or at other authorised facilities.
Alternatively, participants may complete the shooting performance test in Germany as follows:
Thursday, 8 January 2026 – Arrival Day
17:00 Shooting performance test at the Schießzentrum Unna-Hamm
→ Directions to Schießzentrum Unna-Hamm
